Switch off that ‘idiot’ right now!

“They put an off button on the TV for a reason. Turn it off . . . I really don’t watch much TV.” – George W. Bush

Every one on this planet have just a same amount of time in a day; 24 hours. Your productivity level depends upon how you use those 24 hours. I have heard people around saying that I can’t read books because it takes so much of time and nevertheless, if the book is good, they’ll surely make a movie about it and then I’ll watch it within 3 hours. They call it productivity. I do appreciate their thoughts because they really don’t know what a book contains that a book can’t show. But that’s not what actually annoyed me, the reason I am annoyed, is that the same person spends 5 hours a day on television watching literally bullshit!

“I find television very educational. Every time someone switches it on I go into another room & read a good book.” – Groucho Marx

Believe me, television is the biggest lie, you’ll ever encounter. They have created an illusion around us that if we are not watching television, we’re missing out something. But the reality is we are not missing something when we are watching television but we are wasting it and ‘it’ is Time.

There’s a very beautiful quote from a motivational speaker who has delivered lectures in front of millions of people of around dozen of countries that, “When we watch television, we are forcing our mind to relax, relax and believe whatever is being taught. Television, if watched in abundance, will start to control your life. Even that remote control in your hand can’t help you out once you are in control of your TV.” His name was Stepherd Johnson. He left watching television when he was around 13 years old and started to do what he loved the most. Speaking.

Let’s tabulate why television is the complete wastage of time:

  • Our first argument is that watching television brings the world closer to us. We came to know what is happening around the world. Complete Non-sense. Television is a paid medium. Whatever you are watching over it may not be true. And another thing is that we are living in 2016, where internet is taking over our life. You need not to watch television to stay updated about the world. And for God sake, those bloody daily soaps. if you think that these things actually happen in our country, you must literally die.
  • We watch it when we are free. It’s our entertainment medium. If that’s your argument, you must think upon your life. Why the hell are you free? You are young, you should have ambitions in your life and that television is not going to help you in any way. Think upon what you should do, prioritize your life. You should actually never have ‘free’ time.
  • Television slows down your brain’s activity. It is true. It makes you lazy. it kills your power to question. Whatever is being showcased on television, seems to be right. We never questions it because their is no way to question it. I can prove my point. The story of Stepherd Johnson that I just told you is a false one. There’s no Stepherd Johnson. No speaker who said those lines about television. But if you have heard about this on television over a special program of 1 hour, you may have believed it and have never questioned it because there is no way available to question it. But you can question it here. Television has become the biggest medium that can play with your brain and they are doing it enormously. Don’t fall in trap.

Believe me, if you stop watching television and devote your time our your ambition, you’ll be more aware about life and you’ll be missing out nothing. If you really want to watch television, watch something sensible, watch something that motivates you towards your ambition because ambition is the only thing that you should pursue in your life.
